Gapet: Stand up Club
– Concept and visual identity
The brief was to create a concept and visual identity for a new trendy bar in Stockholm. We decided that the concept would revolve around stand up comedy. We knew that there were competition with the same concept in Stockholm.
Our solution to this was to create a social environment, because often when you visit a restaurant you are restricted to your own table and company. So we decided to take away all of the chairs and tables and to only serve food you can eat with your hands. The outcome will be a place where there are no restrictions and people will have a good laugh with strangers and meet new friends.
The name has two meanings. We played with the english word “Gap“ because of the locations lack of furnitures so it’s simply a gap between the walls, and also the Swedish word “Gapskratt” which roughly translates into laughing out loud.
The visual identity is exentric and draws references to the 90s. We wanted everything to look unexpected just like the evenenings you spend there will be.
